Hi, I'm Emma.
I've always been fascinated by psychology and understanding why we think, feel, and behave the way we do. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of that curiosity—a way to help people better understand themselves and use that understanding to create meaningful change in their lives.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, trauma and PTSD, self-esteem and self-image concerns, women's issues, postpartum challenges, life transitions, and relationship and family difficulties.
What It's Like to Work With Me
I believe feeling genuinely known and understood is an important part of good therapy. I take the time to get to know you, remember the details you share, and understand the experiences, relationships, and patterns that have shaped you.
My style is conversational, collaborative, and judgment-free. Depending on what you need, I may ask questions, offer feedback, help you recognize patterns, teach practical skills, or simply give you the space to be heard. I don't believe therapy should follow the same formula for everyone.
Going Beyond the Surface
I'm interested in more than helping you feel better temporarily. Together, we can explore the why behind the way you think, feel, and respond while developing practical tools for moving forward.
My goal is to help you build the self-awareness, confidence, and tools to recognize patterns for yourself and respond differently. I believe therapy is a tool—not something you should have to depend on forever.
Why "The Mindful Therapy Practice"?
Mindfulness is at the heart of the name of my practice because I believe it is one of the most valuable skills we can learn in life. So much of our time can be spent replaying the past, anticipating what might happen next, or moving through our days without truly experiencing them.
To me, mindfulness is about learning to notice your thoughts and emotions without immediately being controlled by them, becoming more aware of yourself and your patterns, and returning your attention to the life happening in front of you. When we learn to be more present, we create space to experience the moments, relationships, and everyday parts of life where genuine happiness can be found.
That philosophy is woven into the way I approach therapy: understand yourself more deeply, become more intentional in how you respond, and learn to be present for the life you're building.
My Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. My work incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Outside the Therapy Room
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, going for walks, and cooking. I value many of the same things I encourage my clients to make room for—the relationships, experiences, and everyday moments that make life feel meaningful.
